Coastal Nations Search and Rescue Course – Bamfield February 2020
CN-CGA is looking forward to attending the Coastal Nations Search & Rescue course – Feb 12-18, in Bamfield, BC . Trainees will develop and exercise small boat specific skills, within the context of SAR missions and environmental response. Learn then practice the techniques involved in recording information, receiving a search action plan from the Joint Rescue Coordination Center (Victoria) and executing searches.
Also, practice searches such as open water patterns, shoreline searches, and barrier searches. Learn about SAR personal protective equipment and emergency procedures for small craft operations during operations. This includes theories and strategies for accidental immersion in cold water and sea survival, and practice scenarios covering major searches, person recovery from the water, and night operations.
